To be able to log data for TeamSurv, you need a boat that has a GPS receiver and depth sounder, and data from these instruments must be available as NMEA0183 data (NMEA2000 is not currently supported). We have specific trials areas in the UK, France and Lithuania, but we are not restricting data logging to those areas. If you use a Windows computer on board, and it is connected to your instruments whilst at sea, then we will supply you free of charge with a software logger. This logs data on your computer whilst you are at sea, and you can then upload it to our web servers once back ashore. The software is designed so that it will co-exist transparently with any chart plotter or other navigation software you may be running on your computer. We welcome users of the software logger from all parts of the world, not just from our initial trials areas. If you are not a computer user, we have produced a hardware data logger that logs data direct o a USB memory stick. We will lend these to people who are actively logging data in our trials areas in the UK, France and Lithuania. If you are not in these areas, we may not be able to lend you a data logger, in which case you will be placed on a waiting list, or you may purchase one. See here for how to configure NavMon to log data for TeamSurv. read more ... |
